Julia Heart

(Americana/folk artist based in Zürich, Switzerland)

has again proved that sitting still is just not her thing. Following her solo debut last year, she’s now bringing a little bit of the musical metropolis home with ‘The Nashville Session’. After deciding to go solo after having been the songwriter and lead singer of The Konincks for many years, Julia Heart released her debut EP in the summer of 2019, on which she introduced her new body of work. The mellow tracks, with their catchy tunes and traditional American, folky charm were met with much positive response from fans and the media, both at home and abroad.

Shortly after the release of her self-titled EP, Julia Heart put out her feelers and ‘moved right out of her comfort zone’ to the musical mecca Nashville for several months. In autumn 2019, she rounded up a handful of her American musician friends and recorded ‘The Nashville Session’ in only one day. In addition to Julia’s soulful voice, the ‘Session’, which is available exclusively on vinyl, features guitar, violin, double bass and mandolin. After only two rehearsals, it went straight to the recording studio. The result is remarkable, bearing in mind that live sessions can only be post-edited to a limited degree. One special highlight is Joe Lenza on the mandolin, who’s already made himself a name on the American music scene with his band ‘Under the Willow’. With Wilson Harwood as the producer, the four musicians around Julia Heart were able to devote themselves with heart and soul to their instruments. Here, Harwood has once again shown his great skill in creating authentic acoustic productions.
